Watchtower Mask Image

In the Watchtower of October 1, 2007, on page 3, there is an image with a strange mask in the background. This head, which is shown in a rather inappropriate scale within this picture, looks sometimes to the right and sometimes directly to the front, depending on the distance from which you look at it. Unfortunately, I could not technically capture this effect, but I discovered more than these two faces in this picture during the application of different brightness and contrast levels. These are quite different from the images you see first.

I could only capture the head looking to the right in the overall scan. It is clearly visible when you look at it with the naked eye. The forward looking head can be captured by photo technology. However, also the other heads contained in it cannot be worked out clearly enough, so that only the image of the head looking from below is shown. (I had to create the images below by photography, because the scan swallowed up the image information.)

If you look at the pictures for a longer time, I notice that several faces appear on top of each other.

Why would the Watchtower do that? And how does it do that technically? This technology is certainly not there to earn money!
