Jehovah's Witnesses with no soul
The doctrine of the soulless man
Jehovah's Witnesses teach that man has no soul. Rather, he is a soul. They draw this contradiction in themselves – a soul without soul – from the biblical passage Genesis 2:7:
With such a teaching, the Watchtower supports its own thesis that after death there is nothing and that only with the great day of reckoning will human beings be recreated from God's memory through an act of recreation. The effect achieved is a Jehovah's Witnesses' attitude to life that is not aimed at a life after death, but at a paradise in which they are placed like fish in an aquarium. The Watchtower vision goes in the direction of an ideal world, the development of which is not unknown to the Watchtower researchers, but available in all details of human knowledge. By making the farthest future available – through the Watchtower writers having seen through everything – the Jehovah's Witnesses no longer have the uncertainty that is peculiar to all human beings when something is unknown to them. The complete fear ability of Jehovah's Witnesses can now be concentrated entirely on Armageddon.
By removing the soul from man's self-image, the Watchtower Society turns its followers into figures who basically lack their very own. The core, which is unmistakable before God and man, falls away and leaves behind a body-spirit being that is not much more than an intelligent machine. This levelling of the inner difference is consequently underlined with uniformed clothing recommended by the Watchtower Society. From this basic situation of the Jehovah's Witnesses then nothing draws any more into an individual connection with God, but only into the classification and adaptation into a great legion of soldiers-like preaching ministers. The witness is then told again and again that he knows who has how many friends all over the world and doesn't need any personal friends at all.
Effects for the organization
What is strange is that these millions of friends spy on each other with great suspicion and report any deviation from the equality of soldiers to the elders and leaders. It is also strange that these millions of friends do not know each other from now on, when the leadership of this religion demands it. This always happens without justification and without a public procedure. In the practices of the use of power through spying and deprivation of community, the Watchtower Society emphatically unfolds the image of the soulless human being. For what use is it if one spreads something as doctrine, but does not carry it out on the believers? Thus it demands of its followers to put away all spiritual impulses and to obey the orders always and under all circumstances.
But how is it that the deprivation of community makes these soulless souls suffer so much? Does the body suffer, does the spirit suffer? It was the custom of the Nazis to simply hand over a pistol to the apostates so that they could escape themselves. This is consistent with the teaching of the soulless man. Jehovah's Witnesses torture the apostates. Through this torment they are to be brought back to loyalty to the line. Only the return in rank and file can then help these renegade robots.
What remains questionable, however, is which component of the witness can suffer from this torture, when he does not have a soul! Community deprivation will not hurt the body. It may cause anger or rage to the spirit. But what is so hurt by the disciplining measures of the witness elders?
Pastoral care
Through the teaching that man has no soul, the religion of the Watchtower also avoids pastoral care. Pastoral care would be far too dangerous for theocratic warfare, because in pastoral care the carer could spread out all his concerns and needs before the other. For the organization of Jehovah's theocracy of war, pastoral care would be a nucleus of one's own thinking. Direct attention would be a whole new experience for the Jehovah's Witness, and would possibly open dams and bring to light all those neglected areas at the spiritual level. This must be avoided if the Watchtower Society is to maintain its spiritual power.
Pastoral care would be extremely counterproductive for Watchtower theocracy. That is why the soul must disappear as part of the human being. In this way the Watchtower can use its notebooks and books as "good food at the right time" and does not have to reckon with something of its own thriving among the soldiers besides the infiltration publications. By focusing on Watchtower literature as the only admissible thing in the spirit of a Jehovah's Witness, the Watchtower Society keeps all power in a well-controlled form. A soul of its own would only unnecessarily torpedo this control.
Performance-enhancing
The mind-body machine, Jehovah's Witness, liberated from every soul, is the most powerful human apparatus for a large organization. There are no mental illnesses and troubles to consider. Conscientious doubts as to whether one really offers the right teaching at the front doors are largely numbed or completely eliminated. If the witness no longer functions, he is automatically to blame himself and cannot make anyone responsible except himself. He is then no longer "in truth" and has to bear the consequences. Death in Armageddon and community deprivation.
High benchmark makes attractive
From the perspective of soullessness, aspects such as activism, business-like zeal, craftsmanship, and blunt progress gain meaning. Jehovah's Witness no longer has to ask his conscience whether he has found God or not, but need only follow the attitude of service and work so deeply rooted in our human society. The yardstick of faith is then no longer purity of faith and attitude of heart, but only the "exercise of faith". The witness thereby gains the possibility of "pulling himself together" and persevering with closed eyes. But he does not notice that he only fulfils human mechanisms with it and is miles away from faith in God.
Thus, the Jehovah's Witnesses especially recognize and self-assured those spirit-body human beings who hold an elevated position in the community. In order to achieve this elevated position, the lower ones perform as much preaching ministry as they can, not knowing that with such a thing sins cannot be forgiven. In order to ascend to the upper spheres of the witness community, they exploit themselves as hard as possible for the Watchtower Society until they realize that they must either go to the dogs or let their dreams of ascent go.
People for whom God's praise results from striving and zeal also exist in other religious communities. But it is precisely because of the alleged soullessness of Jehovah's Witnesses that this type of faith is so prevalent in the Kingdom Hall. There, the human principle of achievement has been raised to spiritual heights, and Jehovah is heard as he calls, You can be like God: One must strive for perfection. This is the way of the Watchtower, not Jesus is the way, but the doing and creating of the soulless man.
The Bible speaks a completely different language
The Bible tells us that we must receive perfection fully given by Jesus Himself! We can't turn it around ourselves. We must receive the wedding garment from his hand and therefore have no reason to boast of ourselves before God and men.
Jesus warns us urgently against busy activism, which we exercise in the hope of self-baked perfection! Matthew 22:1-14
Thus every religionist who tries to creep in with his self-knitted perfection will be exposed. Human values count for nothing before God! That is why we have to let Jesus give us a new garment.
Conclusion
The Watchtower Doctrine of Soullessness has many Watchtower beneficial effects, but none that benefit Jehovah's Witnesses. Without this teaching, the Watchtower Society would find it much harder to control and keep its people in check. This doctrine of the man without soul is the pragmatism of a newspaper publisher who pursues various goals through the religious track: Money, real estate, power and in the long run something like world domination under the diction of a Jesus who is not present on earth and thus cannot be experienced again.
